Book your place and join us for a one-of-a-kind evening celebrating exploration of some of the wildest places on earth. For our Kendal tour date we have incredible speakers lined up:

In her twenties, elite rower Anna McNuff made the decision to retire from the sport and let go of her Olympic dream. She then embarked on a new life as an adventurer – darting around the world on the hunt for new and exciting endurance challenges, from running 1,911 miles along New Zealand’s Te Araroa trail to spending 25 consecutive weeks sleeping wild on hilltops around London – Anna believes there is more than one type of adventure.

Olly Hicks is a world record-breaking adventurer and endurance athlete.  His expeditions and voyages have taken him to every continent and ocean across the world.  He has produced two award-winning documentaries about his record-breaking ocean voyages and he is currently preparing to make the first solo row around the world beginning in December 2018.

As well as hearing from Anna and Olly, we'll also be showing a selection of our favourite films from Kendal Mountain Festival 2017 – from flying above the Azores to freediving with Orcas, from skateboarding across Colorado to swimming in the wild ocean – you'll be taken on a journey you'll never forget!

Anna McNuff left the corporate world to cycle through all 50 states in the USA, 11,000 miles from Alaska to Hawaii – within six months. Anna has subsequently completed a range of adventures big and small, including cycling along the spine of The Andes, through South America's most remote regions and ascending over 100,000 metres. She was recently named one of the Guardian's top female adventureres. With a career as an elite athlete under her belt alongside a stint in the marketing world. Anna doesn't believe their is only one type of adventure and is interested in pushing people to dispense fear and realise their capabilities.

Drawn to the sea from a young age, the fascination with what lies beyond the horizon and a dream to row across the Atlantic from the age of 13 which he realized aged 23 – he now seeks to push the boundaries of ocean adventure & human endeavor even further.

His passion is messing around in boats and in, on or under the water.  Ever since he was given a small yellow kayak for his 7th birthday and was able to explore the rivers and creeks of the east coast of England he developed his insatiable hunger for exploration and adventure.

His accomplishments include being the only person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean from the USA to England after 124 days at sea as well as the youngest to row any ocean solo (at the time!).

Olly also made the first row across the Tasman Sea from Tasmania to New Zealand, through 96 days alone on the notoriously wild southern ocean and has several extreme kayak voyages under his belt including a 200 mile crossing from the Shetland Islands to Norway in memory of the World War Two Shetland Bus Operation.
