A global extravaganza featuring renowned Round the World adventurer Sarah Outen and the first person to trek the length of Madagascar, Ash Dykes.
As well as hearing from Sarah and Ash, we'll also be showing a selection of the best adventure films from around the world: be amazed by watching Johanna, the Finnish freediver who dives under the ice, and Tom Seipp, the fearless young cyclist with an incredible enthusiasm for long journeys on his bike, plus more of our favourite films from Kendal Mountain Festival 2016!
Ash Dykes is the British adventurer dubbed by FHM Magazine as “One Of The Worlds Most Fearless Outdoors Men” but he’s even prouder of Wales Online’s rating as the “7th coolest person in Wales”. In 2014 Ash became the first person to walk across Mongolia solo and unsupported, 1,500 miles in 78 days whilst pulling 120kg in a wheeled trailer. Then, in 2015, Ash became the first person to traverse Madagascar’s length, taking on eight of the highest mountains on island, 1,600 miles in 155 days.
Sarah Outen is a world record-breaking adventurer and will be talking about her London2London: Via the World journey in which she looped the planet by rowing boat, bike and kayak. A 4.5-year journey by land and sea, it was full of adventures and surprises. From mid ocean rescues to proposals and extremes in temperatures and kindness on the road, this is an inspiring
Sarah’s second book ‘Dare to Do: Taking on the planet by boat and bike’ will be available to buy on the night.
