Sticklebarn Dinner and a Film Screening

Following a popular first series, our film and dinner events at Sticklebarn are back!

We’ve joined forces with the National Trust to create a series of bespoke evenings with a collection of inspiring films carefully chosen by the Kendal Mountain team and a delicious dinner provided by the amazing Sticklebarn.

Hosted by one of our wonderful presenters who will guide you through the films and give you personal insights into the explorers, adventurers and storytellers they feature.

The themes for the films will be as follows: 

17th December - Mountain Films21st January - Snow Films11th February - Run and Ride Films18th March - Water Films

Family Adventure Film Afternoons at Sticklebarn

Come and join us for an afternoon of films and a hot chocolate to warm up after an adventure in the Langdales!

The National Trust and Kendal Mountain Tour are working together to create an exciting collection of films to inspire and excite young and old adventurers alike.

The afternoon will be hosted by a National Trust team member who will guide you through the film collection making sure everyone has a warm drink and maybe even a piece of cake!

Film Events at Hinterlands, Skipton’s Film Festival

Kendal Mountain Festival has joined forces with Hinterlands to host two exciting cinematic events at their Festival, showcasing some of the best films from the 2022 Mountain Festival. Both sessions will be hosted by one of our presenters who will guide you through the films and give you insights into the storytellers and wonderful characters they feature.

Hinterlands, Skipton’s Film Festival, celebrates the richness and variety of rural film in the heart of the Lakes and Dales. From 17-19 March 2023, enjoy cinematic events that will make you reconsider the importance of the great outdoors in film. Through a vibrant and diverse programme Hinterlands brings classic and new films to the big screen in unique settings across the idyllic market town of Skipton in North Yorkshire.

A Night of Adventure of Timber Festival

Friday 7th July - evening

Kendal Mountain Festival has joined forces with Timber Festival to present “A Night of Adventure”, showcasing some of the best films from the 2022 Mountain Festival. The event will be hosted by one of our presenters who will guide you through the films and give you insights into the storytellers and wonderful characters they feature. We’ll also be welcoming cold water swimmer Becca Harvey who’ll join us on stage for a fascinating and empowering conversation where we'll delve into the challenge of swimming an Ice Mile, the beauty and harshness of UK landscapes, the suffering that goes into training, and the relationship swimming has to solitude and community.

Timber Festival is an incredible weekend festival of celebration, debate and reflection in the National Forest. Join new thinkers, artists, musicians, writers, activists and makers in a joyous celebration of nature.
