Uisdean grew up on a small farm in the west coast of Scotland.  Participating in all types of activity’s from gathering sheep to rugby and football. The one thing he didn’t do growing up was climbing.

He started climbing age 19 while doing his joinery apprenticeship and quickly developed into one of Scotland’s most active winter climbers.

Scottish winter climbing and big mountain routes have become his main focus. He has developed a passion for thin ice, and has really excelled in this style of climbing. Over the last 3 seasons he has racked up a number of significant repeats and first accents. First accents include The Giant (VII,7) Han solo (VIII,7) Call Me Ishmael (VIII,9) The Messiah (X,10).

“The first winter ascent of The Giant is without doubt one of the most important winter ascents in Cairngorm Climbing history.”  Simon Richardson Scottishwinter.com

Now 24 and finished his apprenticeship he is looking to train and climb as much as possible.

But Uisdean is always happy to be out having an adventure with friends, meeting new people and living life to the full.

Jenny Tough is on a mission to run solo and unsupported across a mountain range on every continent, and will be joining us on the tour this year fresh back from the fourth installment, her >1000km run across the Southern Alps. In 2016 she became the first person to run across the Tien Shan of Kyrgyzstan, and in 2017 the Atlas Mountains, and in 2018 the Bolivian Andes.

She is passionate about all human-powered endurance challenges and encouraging others to push their own limits, and to go find adventures.
